Erasure

Erasure is a satirical novel by Percival Everett that explores themes of race, identity, and the literary world. The protagonist, Thelonious 'Monk' Ellison, is a writer struggling with the expectations placed on African American authors. In response to the publishing industry's demand for 'authentic' black voices, he writes a parody novel that unexpectedly becomes a bestseller, leading to a series of personal and professional conflicts.
