Five architectures for five portraits. With their bold and unusual foreshortenings, views from the bottom upwards and blow-ups of architectonic details her works do not belong to photography of reality or landscape but to conceptual inquiry. The five pieces of architecture the artist has chosen for this book and for the exhibition are: The Science and Technology Museum in Valencia, designed by Santiago calatrava; Jean Nouvel's Fondation Cartier in Paris; Frank O. Gehry's Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles; the French National Library in Paris, built to Dominique Perrault's design and again in Paris, the neoclassical architect Jacques-Germain Soufflot's Pantheon.
