RCR: Work on paper

Winners of the Pritzker Prize in 2017, RCR Arquitectes -Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem and Ramón Vilalta- was founded in Olot, Spain in 1987. His work has stood out for being sober and elegant. With compositions of rhythm, weight and material they have managed to create great works such as the Soulages Museum, the Waalse Krook Media Library, the Sant Antoni-Joan Ollar Library, among others. The drawing is a fundamental part of their creative process, where with a set of strokes they show their explorations and interests. The book comes from the exhibition with the same name, RCR. Work on paper, made within the framework of the Festival of Architecture and City MEXTRÓPOLI and is based on more than 50 of his drawings in gouache with ink. In this publication an extended selection is shown in three categories: Series, Sketches and Work. Series, exhibits a small collection of his plastic explorations; Sketches lets see his work process with drawings that extract the essence and the concept of some of his architectural works; and Obra exhibits his architectural interests of some of his trips from an artistic vision.
