The Best Dutch Book Designs 2011

by

For the “Best Dutch Book Designs” award in 2011, 30 books were selected out of more than 300 candidates by a four-person jury comprised of Jan de Boer, Frederike Huygen, Fokko Tamminga, and Astrid Vorstermans. The winners are presented here, along with a general overview of observed trends in publishing in the Netherlands. Taking careful account of the balance between content, design, and production in making their decision, the jury members’ deliberations and explanatory texts about why the choice was made for each individual selection are included here in detail. Published by The Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek (CPNB, "Collective Promotion for the Dutch Book") Bilingual, in Dutch and English Softcover, 112 pages, color + b&w images, 8.25 × 12 inches ISBN: 978-9-05-965184-5
