A Line Which Forms a Volume 6

by

A Line Which Forms a Volume is a critical reader and symposium of graphic design-led research that is edited, written, designed and published by participants of the MA Graphic Media Design (MAGMD) course at London College of Communication (LCC). This sixth issue concerns the production of knowledge as a symbiotic network, exploring the connections and relationships that have grown from the previous volumes of the publication. It compares the structure of these networks to nature’s mycorrhizal networks, whose extended links lie invisible below ground, their presence only revealed by mushrooms above ground. This volume features an extract from Yasmine Ostendorf-Rodríguez’s book Let’s Become Fungal! Mycelial Learning and the Arts , Inês Neto dos Santos’s artistic practice in and around fermentation, conversations with designers Sophie Rentien Lando and Robin Bantigny, and a curated selection of graphic design-led research developed at MA Graphic Media Design. Contributors include Paola Sánchez, Yuxin Xiong, Anqi Meng, Yuhao Chen, Qinyi Yang, Ben Conod, Kexin Zhang, Xiaotong Liang, and Junchen Jin Publication was presented as a companion to a symposium held at Roof Studio, Siobhan Davies Studios on January 28, 2023. Edited by Yuxin Xiong and Paola Andrea Sánchez A. Designed by Anqi Meng, Qinyi Yang, and Yuhao Chen Set in Edition by Elias Hanzer Published by MA Graphic Design Media, London College of Communication, 2023 Softcover with green coil binding, 144 pages, 1- and 2-color printing, 6 × 7.5 inches ISSN: 2515-9801
