They Shoot Typo, Don’t They?

A Collection of Film Poster Design For ten years (2002-2012), graphic design students at the Sint-Lucas art school in Ghent created posters for film series screened at the school. Taking on the challenge of breaking through the stereotypical trends found in film poster design, the students were given free reign to explore and experiment, reinterpret and transform, and subvert the marketing logic common to the film industry. This book chronologically presents and reproduces these posters, as most of the graphic artists involved have since graduated and matured into successful professional careers. The posters, therefore, are “a visual reflection on their search for graphic identity.” Designed by Joris Kritis and Julie Peeters; Ward Heirwegh, Britt Helbig, and Raf Vancampenhoudt; Joris Van Aken and Raf Vancampenhoudt; Ines Cox and Lauren Grusenmeyer; Lennart Van Den Bossche and Louis Verhoeven; Laura Bergans and Anne De Boeck; Hadewych Becuwe and Jade Janssesns; Published by Sint-lucas Visual Arts Ghent, 2012 Softcover, 272 pages, full color and black & white illustrations, 8.25 × 11.75 inches In Dutch and English ISBN: 978-90-76101-14-9
