Tertullian was a prolific early Christian author from Carthage, active between approximately 160 and 220 A.D. Known as the father of Latin Christianity, he produced an extensive corpus of Latin literature and was the first to formally expound on Trinitarian theology. His work introduced foundational Latin theological terms, including the concept of three persons in one substance.
