Alexander Tzonis

Alexander Tzonis (1937–2026) was a Greek-born French architect, author, and researcher recognized for his contributions to architectural theory and design cognition. He founded the Design Knowledge Systems institute at TU Delft and is noted for his work on the classical canon, creative design by analogy, and the concept of critical regionalism. Throughout his career, he frequently collaborated with Liane Lefaivre to bridge scientific and humanistic approaches to architecture.
