Andrei Platonov

Andrei Platonovich Platonov was a Soviet Russian novelist, short story writer, philosopher, playwright, and poet. His work, which includes novels such as The Foundation Pit, Soul, and Chevengur, was largely banned during his lifetime for its experimental style and skepticism toward Stalinist policies. Platonov’s writing is noted for its avant-garde form and existentialist themes, which diverged from the era's dominant socialist realism.
