Antoine Arnauld

Antoine Arnauld (1612–1694) was a French Catholic theologian, priest, philosopher, and mathematician. A prominent intellectual associated with the Jansenist group of Port-Royal, he possessed extensive knowledge of patristics. To distinguish him from his father, contemporaries referred to him as le Grand.
