Arthur Coleman Danto

Arthur Coleman Danto was an American philosopher and art critic who served as a professor at Columbia University. Widely recognized for his long-term tenure as an art critic for The Nation, he produced significant scholarship in philosophical aesthetics, the philosophy of history, and the philosophy of action. His extensive intellectual interests encompassed the work of Hegel, Nietzsche, and Sartre, as well as theories of representation and philosophical psychology.
