Arthur Edward Waite

Arthur Edward Waite was an American-born British poet and scholarly mystic who wrote extensively on occult and esoteric subjects. He is widely recognized as the co-creator of the Rider-Waite Tarot deck. His work is noted for being the first to attempt a systematic study of the history of Western occultism, framing it as a spiritual tradition rather than a pathology of religion.
