August Strindberg
August Strindberg was a prolific Swedish writer and painter whose career spanned four decades. Known as the father of modern Swedish literature, he authored over 60 plays and 30 works of fiction, autobiography, and cultural analysis. An iconoclast who drew heavily on personal experience, he experimented with diverse dramatic methods ranging from naturalism to early expressionist techniques.
