Barry Lopez
Barry Holstun Lopez (1945–2020) was an American essayist, nature writer, and novelist whose work focused on the intersection of human culture and the environment. Over a fifty-year career, he traveled to more than 80 countries and authored notable works such as Arctic Dreams, which won the National Book Award for Nonfiction in 1986. His writing appeared in publications including Harper's Magazine, National Geographic, and The Paris Review.
