Bernard Augustine De Voto

Bernard Augustine DeVoto was an American historian, conservationist, essayist, and novelist known for his expertise on the American West. He authored a series of Pulitzer Prize-winning historical works and served as a long-time columnist for Harper's Magazine, where he wrote The Easy Chair. In addition to his writing career, he worked as a teacher, editor, and speechwriter during the 1950s.
