Betty Friedan

Betty Friedan was an American writer, journalist, and activist who became a central figure in the 20th-century women's movement. A graduate of Smith College with a background in psychology, she authored the influential 1963 book The Feminine Mystique. In 1966, she co-founded the National Organization for Women and served as its first president, advocating for the full equality of women in American society.
