Carlos Fuentes

Carlos Fuentes Macías (1928–2012) was a prominent Mexican novelist, essayist, and diplomat. A central figure of the Latin American Boom, his notable works include The Death of Artemio Cruz, Aura, and Terra Nostra. Throughout his career, he received numerous honors, including the Miguel de Cervantes Prize, the Rómulo Gallegos Prize, and the Belisario Domínguez Medal of Honor, and was widely recognized as a significant influence in Spanish-language literature.
