Carolyn Abbate

Carolyn Abbate is an American musicologist and the Paul and Catherine Buttenwieser University Professor at Harvard University. Her research centers on 19th-century opera, often examining the physical impact of performance on audiences beyond the printed score. Her recent scholarship has expanded to include film and performance studies.
