Dale Carter

Dale Carter (1802-1878) was a Virginia lawyer, farmer, real estate speculator, and politician. A member of the Virginia General Assembly, he served in the House of Delegates from 1857 to 1858 and the Senate from 1865 to 1867. Known as Squire, he was a prominent landowner whose post-war acquisitions spanned Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky, eventually leading to the creation of Dickenson County, Virginia.
