Daphne A. Brooks

Daphne A. Brooks is an American writer and scholar serving as the William R. Kenan, Jr. professor at Yale University. She specializes in African American literary and cultural performance studies, with a focus on 19th-century and trans-Atlantic culture. Her research interests are deeply informed by her long-standing passion for rock music and its influence on black performance.
