Dashiell Hammett

Samuel Dashiell Hammett was an American writer, screenwriter, and political activist known for his contributions to hard-boiled detective fiction. He created iconic characters including Sam Spade, Nick and Nora Charles, and The Continental Op. His literary legacy encompasses a variety of novels and short stories, as well as the development of the comic strip character Secret Agent X-9.
