Defne Ayas

Defne Ayas is a curator, educator, and editor specializing in contemporary art and its institutions. Born in Germany and raised in Istanbul, she has held various roles within the international art community. As of September 2025, she serves as the director of the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven, where she continues her work as a lecturer and institutional leader.
