Delvaux

Paul Delvaux (1897–1994) was a Belgian painter known for dream-like compositions featuring women, classical architecture, trains, and skeletons. Although he briefly identified with the surrealist movement, he developed a distinct style that combined hyper-realistic detail with fantastical subjects. His work was influenced by Giorgio de Chirico and René Magritte, blending academic precision with surreal juxtapositions.
