Evan Shelby Connell Jr. (1924–2013) was an American novelist, poet, and short-story writer who published under the names Evan Shelby Connell Jr. and Evan S. Connell Jr. While his work spanned various genres, he focused primarily on fiction. In 2009, he was nominated for the Man Booker International Prize, and in 2010, he received the Los Angeles Times Book Prize's Robert Kirsch Award for his significant contributions to American literature.
