F. Herbert Bormann
F. Herbert Bormann was an American plant ecologist known for his 1971 research at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, which led to the discovery of acid rain. His work significantly influenced the 1990 Clean Air Act in the United States. Throughout his career, he authored eight books and over 200 journal articles, receiving both the Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement and the Blue Planet Prize alongside colleague Gene Likens.
