Farid al-Din ʻAttar

Farid al-Din ʻAttar was a Persian poet, hagiographer, and theoretician of Sufism from Nishapur. Active during the 12th and 13th centuries, he authored numerous lyrical and long-form philosophical poems, as well as prose works documenting the lives of Muslim mystics. His influential body of work includes The Conference of the Birds, the Book of the Divine, and Memorial of the Saints, leaving a lasting impact on Persian literature and Sufi thought.
