Giorgio De Chirico

Giorgio de Chirico was a Greek-Italian artist and writer who founded the scuola metafisica movement before World War I. His influential body of work is characterized by Roman arcades, long shadows, and illogical perspectives. Deeply inspired by the philosophy of Nietzsche and Schopenhauer, his imagery frequently draws upon the mythology of his birthplace in Volos, Greece.
