Herbert Busemann

Herbert Busemann (1905–1994) was a German-American mathematician recognized for his contributions to convex and differential geometry. He authored Busemann's theorem in Euclidean geometry and geometric tomography. A Fulbright scholar and member of the Royal Danish Academy, he became the first American mathematician to receive the Lobachevsky Medal in 1985.
