Herbert Marcuse

Herbert Marcuse (1898–1979) was a German-American philosopher, sociologist, and political theorist associated with the Frankfurt School. After earning his PhD at the University of Freiburg, he became a prominent figure at the Institute for Social Research. His written works critically examined capitalism, modern technology, and social control, establishing him as a significant voice in 20th-century critical theory.
