J. G. Ballard

James Graham Ballard was an English novelist, short-story writer, and essayist known for exploring the intersections of human psychology, technology, and mass media. Born in Shanghai, he was interned during World War II before moving to England. After briefly studying medicine and serving in the Royal Air Force, he committed to a full-time writing career. His notable works include the post-apocalyptic novel The Drowned World and the controversial titles The Atrocity Exhibition and Crash.
