James A. Michener

James A. Michener (1907–1997) was an American writer who authored more than 40 books. He is best known for his long, fictional family sagas that incorporate detailed history and are set in specific geographic locales. Michener was recognized for his meticulous research, and many of his works became bestsellers and selections for the Book of the Month Club.
