John A.

John August List is an American economist recognized for his contributions to empirical economic analysis through the use of field experiments. He serves as the Kenneth C. Griffin Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago and holds a visiting chair at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. A fellow of the Econometric Society, he has also held leadership roles at the Becker Friedman Institute.
