John Heartfield

John Heartfield (1891–1968) was a German visual artist known for pioneering photomontage as a tool for political commentary. A co-founder of the Malik-Verlag publishing house, he produced influential anti-Nazi and anti-fascist works. His diverse career included designing book jackets for authors like Upton Sinclair and creating stage sets for playwrights such as Bertolt Brecht and Erwin Piscator.
