John J. Collins

John J. Collins is an Irish-American scholar specializing in the Hebrew Bible, Second Temple Judaism, and the Dead Sea Scrolls. He is the Holmes Professor Emeritus of Old Testament Criticism and Interpretation at Yale Divinity School and served as the general editor of the Anchor Yale Bible Series from 2008 to 2025. Elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2018, he remains a prominent figure in biblical studies.
