John MacArthur

John Macarthur was a British Army officer, landowner, and politician who arrived in New South Wales in 1789. He is recognized as a key organizer of the 1808 Rum Rebellion and a pioneer of the Australian Merino wool industry. His career was marked by his entrepreneurial activities as a pastoralist and his influential role within the New South Wales Corps.
