Kathe Kollwitz

Käthe Kollwitz was a German artist recognized for her work in painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Her notable art cycles, such as The Weavers and The Peasant War, focus on the impact of poverty, hunger, and war on the working class. Associated with Expressionism, she was the first woman elected to the Prussian Academy of Arts and the first to receive honorary professor status.
