Lucio Apuleyo

Lucio Apuleyo was a 2nd-century Numidian Latin-language prose writer, rhetorician, and Platonist philosopher. Born in the Berber city of Madauros, he studied in Athens and traveled extensively throughout Italy, Asia Minor, and Egypt. He is noted for his involvement in a legal trial regarding accusations of magic, which he addressed in his published defense, the Apologia.
