Marco Bene

Marco Benefial (1684–1764) was an Italian painter active primarily in Rome. He is recognized for his proto-Neoclassical style, which rejected the decorative Rococo trends of his time in favor of tangible human figures, complex spatial treatment, and warm colors. His body of work includes altarpieces, frescoes, and numerous portraits, though some attributions remain complicated due to collaborations with other artists.
