Markus Lupertz

Markus Lüpertz is a German painter, sculptor, graphic artist, and writer associated with the neo-expressionist movement. Recognized as one of Germany's most prominent contemporary artists, his work is noted for its archaic monumentality and suggestive power. Beyond his visual art practice, he is also a jazz pianist and magazine publisher, often referred to in the German press as a painter prince.
