Norman Bryson
Norman Bryson is an Anglo-American art historian known for his literary theory-based approach to the field. After earning his Ph.D. from Cambridge University in 1977, he held academic positions at King's College, the University of Rochester, and Harvard University. He is currently faculty at the University of California, San Diego, where he focuses on contemporary art. His notable publications include Word and Image, Vision and Painting, and Tradition and Desire.
