Paramahansa Yogananda
Paramahansa Yogananda was an Indian-born monk, yogi, and guru who founded the Self-Realization Fellowship to disseminate his teachings. A disciple of Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri, he immigrated to the United States at age 27 to advocate for a balance between Eastern spirituality and Western material growth. Often cited as the Father of Yoga in the West, he spent his final 32 years in America, where he authored works and preached on the unity of religious traditions.
