Philip Wolfe

Philip Starr Wolfe (1927–2016) was an American mathematician and a foundational figure in the development of convex optimization theory and mathematical programming. His professional work spanned the fields of mathematics, computer science, and statistics, where he made significant contributions to linear and quadratic programming. Throughout his career, he also served as a university teacher.
