Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, known as Raphael, was an Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance. His work is recognized for its clarity of form and ease of composition, and he is traditionally considered one of the three great masters of the period alongside Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. His contributions reflect the Neoplatonic ideal of human grandeur through his painting and architectural practice.
