Raymond M. Smullyan

Raymond Merrill Smullyan was an American mathematician, logician, philosopher, and concert pianist. Born in Far Rockaway, New York, he began his career as a stage magician before earning a BSc from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D. from Princeton University. Throughout his life, he worked as a university teacher and contributed to the fields of logic, computer science, and chess composition.
