Sandra M Gilbert

Sandra Mortola Gilbert (1936–2024) was an American poet, literary critic, and scholar known for her contributions to feminist theory and psychoanalytic criticism. A Professor Emerita of English at the University of California, Davis, she is widely recognized for her collaborative work with Susan Gubar, most notably the seminal second-wave feminist text The Madwoman in the Attic, published in 1979.
