Steven Strogatz

Steven Strogatz is an American mathematician and the Susan and Barton Winokur distinguished professor for the public understanding of science and mathematics at Cornell University. His research focuses on nonlinear systems, mathematical biology, and complex network theory. Alongside Duncan Watts, he developed the Watts–Strogatz model to explain small-world networks and degrees of separation.
