Sydney Giffard

Sir Charles Sydney Rycroft Giffard (1926–2020) was a British diplomat and author who served in the foreign service starting in 1961. His career included roles as Ambassador to Switzerland and Japan, as well as Deputy Under Secretary of State. He was appointed to the Order of St Michael and St George and the Order of the Rising Sun, and his published works are held in over 1,000 libraries worldwide.
