Terry Riley

Terrence Mitchell Riley is an American composer and musician born in 1935. A pioneer of the minimalist school, he is recognized for his innovative use of repetition, tape delay systems, and improvisation, drawing influence from jazz and Indian classical music. His landmark works include the 1964 composition In C and the 1969 album A Rainbow in Curved Air, both of which have significantly influenced experimental, rock, and contemporary electronic music.
