Thomas Middleton

Thomas Middleton was an English Jacobean playwright and poet active between 1580 and 1627. He was among the most successful and prolific writers of his era, distinguished for achieving equal acclaim in both comedy and tragedy. In addition to his work for the stage, he was a frequent author of masques and pageants.
