V. Y. Mudimbe
Valentin-Yves Mudimbe (1941–2025) was a Congolese philosopher, academic, and author known for his contributions to African intellectual history and culture. He held professorships in romance studies and comparative literature at Duke University and served as a maître de conférences at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales in Paris. His extensive body of work encompasses philosophy, anthropology, poetry, and belletristic literature.
